Shearer Hill Farm B&B is a small working farm and Vermont bed and breakfast that?s off-the-beaten-path, yet close enough to town to enjoy plenty of Southern Vermont attractions and events. B&B owners Bill & Patti will make you feel right at home and make every effort to ensure that you have a great time in Vermont.

Delicious baked apples, for breakfast! We discovered several years ago that our guests absolutely love waking up in the morning, not only to the smell of freshly baked muffins and coffee, but to baked apples with our very own maple syrup.

We use Vermont appleswhenever posssible, generally Early Macs because they ripen in mid-August through early September, which is perfect timing for our fall vacationers. Or, if our guests prefer a more tart apple to offset the sweetness of the maple syrup, we use Granny Smiths.

We?ve perfected a recipe and baking process that results in a simply delicious breakfast. Best of all, when the weather cooperates, you can enjoy your Vermonter breakfast on the back deck, where you can listen to the cows mooing in the pasture. There?s just something relaxing about the loud bellow of cows off in the distance. They?re actually calling for breakfast too, waiting patiently for Farmer Bill to bring them their morning hay.

Amenities:
The large spacious rooms of Shearer Hill Farm provide our guests with comfort and quiet. There are six rooms each with a private bath. We have either king or twin beds available and several of the rooms can be fitted with roll-a-way single beds to accommodate an extra person or children. Each room is equipped with a ceiling fan to provide cool mountain breeze on a warm summer night. Because the farm is high and each room has more than one window the cross ventilation is delightful.

We have three bedrooms in the main house and our ground floor room in the Carriage House is handicap accessible. The rooms in our Carriage House suite have two bedrooms, each with a private bath, and a private living room. The suite can either accommodate a family (4 to 6 people) or separate lodging for two couples.

In addition to the Wonderful Vermont breakfast, delicious coffee and pristine surroundings, many guests comment on how very well they have slept, "your beds are great!"

Onsite and Local Activities:
Maple Sugaring
We also make our very own maple syrup in our little sugarhouse here at the B&B. We don't know of any other Vermont bed and breakfast that has their own sugarhouse, which is something that we believe makes us quite unique. Since Shearer Hill Farm B&B is also a small working farm, maple sugaring is a perfect fit. Farmer Bill gathers sap every spring, and boils about 50 gallons of syrup in a good season. If you join us in March you can help make Vermont maple syrup. Our sugarhouse is always fun.
