Bike and Nature Trails
Following the Old Country Railroad Tracks for 26 miles from Dennis to Wellfleet (including Brewster), the Cape Cod Rail Trail is a well-maintained asphalt bikeway that is easy to ride. While there are many places to rent bicycles in the area, we recommend Rail Trail Bike & Kayak (508-896-8200) on 302 Underpass Road. You can also park your car here to use the trail without renting & visit the fabulous Eat Cake 4 Breakfast bakery for a rewarding treat after your ride. If you bring your own bikes from home, they can be stored in our garage for safety. See Cape Cod Bike Guide and Cape Cod Bike Book for details about Cape Cod bicycle routes.
There are a large number of hiking trails and nature preserves on Cape Cod, but our favorites include the Audubon Nature Preserve, Fort Hill Trails and Punkhorn Trails. Nearby, The Cape Cod Natural History Museum is home to nature trails through a salt marsh and boardwalk, ending at a secluded beach.
Nickerson State Park – located 10 minutes from the inn, there are many trails both paved and dirt to explore and ponds to visit!
Cape Cod National Seashore Park – Extending along almost the entire outer coast of Cape Cod, the National Seashore is a state treasure.
