The Victorian Parlor Suite ($175)
The Victorian Parlor suite is on the first floor of the mansion. Large pocket doors greet you as you enter the formal parlor with cherry woodwork. Period papers in a floral print adorn the walls below the original Victorian picture rail. The ornate carved mantel and original tile surround the gas fireplace. Guests can watch TV in this comfortable room, and then turn in to the adjoining bedroom with queen bed. This beautiful bedroom has a lilac-print wallpaper and plantation shutters at the bay windows. The private bathroom contains a shower.
Balcony Suite ($165)
The Balcony Suite is on the second floor of the mansion. It has a private balcony that overlooks the Victorian gardens. The bedroom features a queen antique bed and marble top dresser. The adjoining sitting room lets you relax with a good book or watch TV. You can pamper yourself in the Victorian Bathroom with its original claw-foot tub. This suite can accommodate a 3rd person on the convertible loveseat in the sitting room. (additional person $20)
Master Bedroom ($135)
If romance is your goal, then The Master Bedroom is just for you. This, our most romantic room, is painted the color of “Ruby Lips” and is stenciled in gold. It has a built-in wardrobe and four-poster queen-size canopied bed. A beautiful Victorian parlor set provides comfortable seating, as well as the cushioned window seat at the large bay windows. The private bath has a shower.
The Sarah Leas Room ($135)
The Sarah Leas Room is named for the eldest daughter of William Leas. This totally feminine bedroom and private bath are painted in a pale shade of pink and stenciled with roses. A handmade quilt adorns the queen bed. Unique features in this room are a chestnut built-in wardrobe and a sitting area in the turret part of the room.
The bathroom was originally the dressing room of Mrs. Leas and has an antique sideboard fitted with the sink and a shower.
Beulah’s Boudoir, ($140)
This guestroom has been named for daughter Beulah, has a king-size bed, antique wardrobe, and bay windows. A Victorian picture rail, multiple wallpapers, and stenciled ceiling give this room its unique décor. Guests can curl up with a good book in our large, comfy wing chairs. The private bath has a shower and “water closet.” (This room can be converted into two twin beds, if guests need that kind of arrangement.)
The Melvin Leas Room ($115)
This room was originally occupied by the eldest son of William Leas. While it is the smallest bedroom, it contains the most original Victorian features: plaster ceiling medallion, plantation shutters at the bay windows, and picture rail. The queen-sized iron bed has a handmade patchwork quilt. There are two half baths to service this room, one with sink and commode, the other with sink and shower.
All rooms have air conditioning; and guests are supplied with luxury soap, shampoo, toothpaste, lotion, makeup remover. Hair dryers are supplied. Guest iron and ironing board are available. All beds are furnished with a down blanket or down comforter in the winter months.
PA sales tax 6% and Adams County tax 3 % will be added.
Rates include full breakfast and afternoon refreshments/tea.
Minimum Stay: Two nights on holidays, special events and weekends in October; three nights for Re-enactment weekends. Otherwise, single night reservations are accepted. Walk-ins are most welcome.
